Quantum GIS is available for Windows, Linux and Mac. Its a free GIS program which has many features you need to create maps, edit, geostatistical analysis and many more. At the very beginning I want to provide the download link for the latest version of Quantum GIS 2.12 Pisa.
If you are Windows users, you can download Quantum GIS 2.10 installation binary from here (64 bit) and here (32 bit).
